10 Isuzus that earned legendary status & 10 everyone forgot

Isuzu built some genuinely great vehicles, then somehow became the automaker most people only remember from a used-car lot or an old ad campaign. Part of that comes down to timing: Isuzu quietly exited the U.S. passenger market in 2009, leaving a lineup that had drifted into badge-engineered GM leftovers. But buried in that history are cars that won rallies and reshaped Japanese sports-coupe design, right alongside a pile of models nobody talks about anymore. Here's 10 that built the legend, and 10 that quietly slipped away.

Canada’s auto quotas are back in Trump’s crosshairs as LeBlanc stays in Washington ahead of tariff deadline

Trade fights often turn on technical rules that barely register outside customs offices and factory boardrooms. Canada’s automotive remission system is suddenly an exception. Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc and chief negotiator Janice Charette remained in Washington on August 13 as negotiations intensified ahead of President Donald Trump’s August 19 tariff deadline. The White House […]

Canada–US auto trade drops $6.7 billion as tariff fight hits the industry hardest

A $6.7‑billion hole opened in Canada–U.S. auto trade between Q1 2024 and Q1 2026, underscoring pressure on a sector central to both economies. The decline came amid tariffs, with motor vehicles and parts falling 18.9% while total trade slipped 0.6% to $322.8 billion in Q1 2026. Since April 2025, Canadian vehicles have faced 25% U.S. tariffs on non‑U.S. content, and Canada imposed 25% duties on American vehicles. Vehicles cross the border multiple times during production; over 90% of Canadian-made vehicles go to the U.S.; signals included 500 Oshawa job losses in January 2026 and a 6% April 2026 sales drop; Ottawa committed $3 billion and $570 million in support; on July 20, President Trump announced new 50% tariffs effective August 19.

Why some Canadians are losing patience with plug-in hybrids

Plug-in hybrid registrations in Canada fell in 2025, while conventional hybrids grew, a notable change in segment totals. The video explains how plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) perform in Canadian winters and why electric-only range often shrinks. It outlines factors affecting PHEV range, home charging access, and public charging speeds. Cold temperatures, cabin heating, battery behavior, winter tires, and road conditions can reduce electric range and prompt engine starts. Engines may also activate in EV mode for heating, defrosting, system protection, or added power. Regular charging is central to savings, yet renters and apartment or condo residents may face limited access. Many models rely on slower charging and may not use fast chargers, affecting public convenience compared with gasoline refueling or fully electric vehicles.

The Bugatti gearbox deal that turned into a scam investigation

Mark McCann searches for a replacement gearbox for his broken Bugatti Veyron after being contacted by a seller claiming access to donor parts. A deal is negotiated, with only a small deposit paid before Mark travels to Spain to inspect the gearbox. The planned meeting quickly raises concerns when the seller fails to appear and begins changing his explanation. Suspicion grows further when another automotive creator receives an offer for the same Bugatti parts. Mark then visits the Spanish address supplied by the seller and discovers the resident has no connection to him. Documents later sent as proof of shipment are also questioned after direct checks with the customs company. The investigation suggests the gearbox offer may have been used to build trust before requesting a much larger payment for additional parts. Mark confronts the seller about the inconsistencies and receives several new explanations. A promised refund is also discussed but does not arrive as expected. The episode follows how a promising Bugatti parts deal gradually turns into a detailed investigation of a suspected scam.

Mom making 7 bus commute to work surprised with new vehicle by kids | Happily

A hard-working single mom, who had been taking three buses to work and four home because her car had broken down for months, burst into tears when her family surprised her with a much-needed vehicle. Sonya Rivers, 57, from Chicago, Illinois, was so desperate for a car to get to her job at Amazon that she wrote statuses on social media, asking friends and family if she could pay monthly to use anyone's vehicle. On one social media post, where a family member had received a car, Sonya wrote her congratulations, adding, "pray that I'm next." The 57-year-old's previous vehicle broke down in April 2024, but the cost of the repairs was more than the car itself. Over the following months, Sonya was required to navigate multiple buses to get to and from work. Those days were tough for Sonya's daughter, Kiera [Key-air-a] Anderson, 33, to experience, and with the colder and darker months approaching, Kiera and her family did not want her mom to have to take multiple buses anymore. Kiera, her husband Anthony, and her brother Gentral decided they would make financial sacrifices to solve Sonya's desperate need for a car. The couple put on hold their plans to save for a house. Anthony traveled around Chicagoland after work to look for vehicles, and Gentral started working seven days a week, Kiera said. And then, on October 19, on a day Midwesterners like to call The Sweetest Day, the surprise took place. Gentral had flown in from Texas, and as a cover for the surprise, Anthony asked his mother-in-law if she would help him look at a venue for his and Kiera's tenth wedding anniversary celebrations. Instead, Sonya pulled into a library parking area where a Chevrolet Malibu was waiting with a big blue bow, her favorite color. The moment took Sonya entirely by surprise, with the gesture – and not expecting to see her son and granddaughter – bringing her to tears of joy.

How the Mini changed motoring

In 1957, car designer Alec Issigonis sat down in his studio and produced some rough sketches of what would turn out to be the blueprints for one of the most revolutionary automobiles of the 20th century—the Mini. The story of how this little people-carrier was created is as fascinating as it is unlikely, emerging as it did out of a fuel crisis that caused global supply shortages and sent gas prices soaring. The car is as popular today as when it first rolled off the production line nearly 70 years ago. But how did the diminutive Mini make such a huge and lasting impact on the automotive industry? In this gallery, we explore the vehicle's origins and highlight the genius that was Alec Issigonis. Click on to continue reading.

Ford recalls more than 20,000 vehicles in Canada as camera problems trigger new safety actions

Ford announced recalls affecting more than 20,000 vehicles in Canada, citing safety concerns with rear-view visibility and exterior trim that could pose hazards. The camera-related recall covers certain F-150 and F-250 Super Duty pickups, where software may leave a menu overlay obstructing the rear-view camera image. A separate action targets 2023–2024 Mustang Mach-E crossovers for loose rear-quarter-window trim that may detach. Ford plans an APIM software update, with VIN checks determining eligibility and dealer repairs provided at no cost. More than 134,000 U.S. vehicles are also affected. The company has faced prior camera recalls and a $165 million U.S. penalty, drawing added scrutiny.

Used-car prices drop nationally but soar in Vancouver

National decline slows: Average used-car prices fell 4.7% year over year to $31,487, but monthly changes suggest stabilisation rather than a continued steep drop. Vancouver bucks trend: Vancouver’s average used-vehicle price jumped 10.2% to over $44,995, making it Canada’s most expensive major market. Inventory shifts impact: National inventory rose 15.5% from May to June, improving choice for buyers, though financing costs and model mix still limit affordability.

20 car features that are going extinct

Just as cell phones have morphed from simple text-and-call devices to full-blown mini computers, cars, too, have continuously evolved. From ignition keys being replaced by the engine start button to gear-shift levers turning into tiny knobs, the pace of change in today’s vehicles can make a model from just 10 or 15 years ago feel incredibly different. Sure, some of these changes have certainly made everyday driving easier, but they also remove features that many older drivers still prefer. If you’re attached to any of the following 20 items, you may want to enjoy them while they’re still available.

20 new car trends drivers may hate in five years

New cars are arriving with more software, larger displays, deeper connectivity, and increasingly assertive safety systems. Many of these changes promise cleaner cabins, easier updates, and fewer crashes. Yet convenience at delivery can become friction after years of subscriptions, software support, repair bills, and daily alerts. The most revealing clue is that regulators and several automakers are already correcting features introduced only a few model cycles ago. These 20 new-car trends may look modern now but could feel expensive, intrusive, distracting, or unnecessarily complicated by 2031. None is guaranteed to fail, and thoughtful design can solve many of the problems. The risk is that buyers may discover too late that a feature built for a showroom demonstration is less appealing during a long ownership period.

42 miles of EV range and almost 300 HP - The new Outlander PHEV gets serious

Electric-only range increases from 38 miles to 42 miles, allowing many daily commutes to be completed without using the gasoline engine at all. The updated system uses a 22.7-kWh battery, multiple electric motors and a gasoline engine to produce just under 300 horsepower, while full-time all-wheel drive continuously distributes power and torque. DC fast charging is still included, although the continued use of the CHAdeMO connector is described as one of the vehicle's biggest head-scratchers. The cabin still offers three rows of seating, but the third row is extremely tight and forces second-row passengers to sacrifice legroom when it is in use. Base pricing is discussed at roughly $48,000 to $49,000, while the tested vehicle carries about $5,600 in additional equipment.

How wild is a real Ford RS200 Group B to drive?

Mark McCann takes a close look at two rare Ford RS200 Group B cars from his collection. He begins by explaining the homologation rules that required road-going versions to be produced for rally competition. The rally-spec RS200 is then driven, revealing a noisy and cramped cabin with difficult pedal placement. Its central drivetrain layout, fire systems, and adjustable differential controls show how purpose-built the car really is. Mark then switches to the road version, which feels quieter but still delivers strong turbocharged performance. The rear bodywork is opened to reveal the suspension, twin dampers, and compact turbocharged engine layout. The rally version is compared with the road car to highlight its larger turbo and wider competition setup. Mark also explains why surviving RS200s have become increasingly rare and valuable. A comparison with a modern Ford Fiesta R5 shows how much rally technology has changed over time. The video finishes with a look inside Ken Block’s RX43 engine bay and its large turbo and intake system.

10 Suzukis that refused to die & 10 that never found an audience

Suzuki has spent decades making some of the most stubbornly reliable vehicles on the planet, the kind that outlive their own marketing budgets. It has also produced a genuinely strange run of flops that vanished from showrooms within a couple of years. Both sides say something about the company, since Suzuki tends to succeed when it keeps things small and simple, and struggles the moment it tries to compete somewhere it doesn't belong. The survivors kept going through emissions crackdowns and entire market exits, while the failures barely made it past their second model year. Here's 10 Suzukis that refused to die, and 10 that never found an audience.

The Long Range version uses a 97 kWh net battery and can deliver more than 600 km of realistic range in efficient driving. With strong comfort, distinctive styling, and excellent efficiency, the DS No 8 feels like a serious French alternative to luxury EV rivals.

Can a 1300HP Nissan Patrol survive ice racing in RWD?

A 1300HP Nissan Patrol from Oman arrives in Europe and immediately becomes one of the strangest cars at an exclusive winter racing event in Austria. Built with a turbo TB48 engine, straight-cut gearbox, anti-lag, and a lowered setup, this Patrol is far from a normal SUV. At FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, the Patrol stands out among Porsche, Bentley, and other expensive cars with its loud sound, strange stance, and wild sliding behavior. This Nissan Patrol video gives viewers a clear look at Middle East car culture, extreme horsepower, RWD snow driving, FAT Ice Race atmosphere, and why a desert-built SUV can steal attention at a millionaire winter event.

This 250,000-mile Toyota V8 still sounds better - but the new Land Cruiser crushed it

The old-school 100 Series Land Cruiser enters the race with a naturally aspirated V8 originally rated at 230 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, plus roughly 250,000 miles already on the clock. Its opponent is the modern 250 Series, using Toyota's turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain with substantially more horsepower and torque despite having half the cylinders. Once the race starts, the difference is brutal - the newer truck immediately pulls away while the V8 driver stays foot to the floor and struggles to keep the other vehicle in sight. Even activating the old truck's mysterious "Power" button does little to change the outcome, although the V8 easily wins the battle for sound and old-school character. The test shows just how dramatically Land Cruiser performance has evolved, with modern turbo-hybrid technology delivering acceleration the older V8 simply cannot match.

This V10 BMW estate was cheap for a serious reason

DriveTribe buys a rare BMW M5 Touring with a 500HP V10 engine and an unusual history. The car stands out because it combines estate practicality, a naturally aspirated S85 V10, and very limited production numbers. Its cheaper price comes from a previous write off caused by a small fire in the rear battery area, making it both tempting and risky. The video also covers the car’s strengths, including its sound, performance, luxury features, and rare specification, while noting issues like fuel use, SMG gearbox behavior, and future maintenance checks. This episode works because it asks whether a rare dream estate is still worth buying when its history is not perfect.

Why was this McLaren P1 built outside the factory?

Tavarish reveals a unique McLaren P1 assembled outside the McLaren factory using a brand-new monocoque tub, authentic hardware, factory manuals, and genuine components. The build includes a complete hybrid system, prototype-derived parts, advanced hydraulic suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and the same active aerodynamics found on a production P1. What makes the car unusual is that it was never part of the official factory production run and currently carries a VOID VIN designation. The project is nearly complete, with only final plumbing, the fuel system, and hybrid battery installation remaining. The story centers on how close a privately assembled P1 can get to factory specification while technically existing outside the original production series.

10 luxury cars that are worth buying used & 10 that are too risky

Buying a luxury vehicle secondhand can unlock comfort, performance, and features that originally came with a much higher price tag, but depreciation alone doesn’t make every model a bargain. Reliability history, repair costs, powertrain complexity, maintenance records, and the condition of the individual vehicle matter considerably. Some models have established relatively reassuring ownership records, while others can become expensive once warranties disappear. Here are 10 luxury cars that are worth buying used and 10 that are too risky.
